Deat Sir/mdm, I have finished my employment with SMC Alsop (Singapore) in June, 2008. SMC Alsop has given me the chance to experience very large scale projects. I was assigned as a project architect on a multi-used commercial project in Indonesia. During the design stage, meetings and presentations were held in Singapore. The project is now under construction stage. Occasionally I needed to fly to Indonesia to have discussion with the local architects and technical consultants. I have learned so much from the project in terms of leadership, professional communication skills and decision making. In addition, the company also gave me opportunity to enter a competition in Dubai. I have also done a few residential developments in Abu Dhabi and India. I started working in architectural field during my study in the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. I aim to get myself attached to the local architecture field in Sydney, in which to help me of fulfilling my notion of a knowledge-aimed and practical-based training for a lifetime career. I was employed by Patrick O’Carrigan + Partners (POC+P) as a part-time architect’s assistant and I continued work for POC+P after my graduation. I had a fruitful employment with POC+P for more than 2 years. I then decided to move overseas to get international experiences. I was employed by a small-medium architectural firm in Singapore, ARC Studio. I worked under a project architect as his assistant for 6 months during my 1 year practice in ARC studio. It helps me to get a better understanding of how to manage the project in different scale especially when I worked for SMC Alsop. Regarding my educational background, I possess a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. I graduated with Honors. The degree combines both theoretical (5 years) and practical (internship – 6 months) instructions. During my 6 months internship, I had 4 months experienced at Ken Yeang’s practice in Kuala Lumpur and 2 months at 3HPArchitect in Singapore.

I am a graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, with 4 years work experience in the UK and abroad. My work-placement, at Formation Architects, in London, has given me the opportunity to experience the process of working through stages C to F, whilst participating in a complex urban project. This has been unique in its brief for Social housing within Westminster, and also sort listed for the 2008 Housing Design Awards. Within this placement I have organized and attended meetings with various client groups, consultancy firms and liaison with contractors and suppliers. From concept to detailing and further on to production, the process involved a variety of drawing and presentation techniques. This has involved handsketches, Autocad and VectorWorks Drawings, 3d SketcUp models, document presentations, and above all practical thinking and an attention to detail approach. My work-placement at Camenzind Grafensteiner Architects and Weber+Hofer AG Architekten in Zurich Switzerland has given me an understanding on some of the design and construction techniques used in Europe. In addition to this I planned and designed, (using some of these technique), my family home in Greece, a project with which I have gained extensive experience. My interest in sustainability and energy efficiency designs inspired me, particularly as part of my research degree at UCL, to design an innovative Interactive Water Pavilion. The project gained considerable attention from Mr. Andy Bow, a partner of Foster and Partners, who pursued his interest to the Greater London Authority (GLA).
